A cold front is entering northern sections of the state of Alabama at this hour where some scattered showers have developed.  Precipitable water values are dropping north of the boundary to less than 1” across northern Mississippi and into Tennessee where surface dew points have dropped into the mid and lower 50’s.  Mid level drying is also showing up and the rain threat has effectively ended across that region.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the VA/NC/SC/GA coastline until 6PM EDT this evening.  In the tidewater region and the Coastal Carolinas….there is a slim chance that a few severe storms will be possible with higher Theta-E (unstable) air moving into the region ahead of the surface front and low pressure area.  Damaging winds and hail will be the main threats.

Those are the main threats across the country today so we will be working on stock video footage yet again to get everything on our server and youtube channel.  We will also be actively recruiting new streamers for the 2013 storm season to give you the best experience possible.  Have a great Sunday…
