Wow…what a day. LSM affiliate John Sibley captured the most intense footage of the day with tornadic activity near the Hattiesburg, MS metro area with a long tracked supercell that ravaged much of the area.

Severe storms are already ongoing in portions of Mississippi and Louisiana along the squall line. This area of convection is generally getting stronger and pushing off toward the east this morning around 30 mph.
The Storm Prediction Center has continued there slight risk of severe weather for much of the deep south with the risk of damaging winds being the main threat. The tornado threat is expected to increase a touch over portions of southeast Alabama later this morning into the mid afternoon as some destabilization takes place. This stretches into Georgia as well.
Brett Adair and Justin Chandler will be hitting the field over the next few hours and track southward toward the Montgomery area and to the south to see if anything ends up happening in terms of tornadoes or damage. Stay tuned…
